There’s something magical about Oran Mór. Standing proudly at the top of Byres Road, with its dramatic spire, rich history, and that unmistakable West End energy, it’s one of Glasgow’s most iconic wedding venues. When Mark and Broghan told me they were tying the knot there, I knew their stationery needed to capture not just the grandeur of the building, but also the vibrance of the city they love.

The Inspiration Board
The creative journey began with an inspiration board filled with deep jewel tones, architectural flourishes, and the electric pulse of Glasgow at night.
The Venue: Oran Mór’s stunning spire and red sandstone exterior became the focal point of the main illustration.
The Interior: The iconic breathtaking ceiling mural inspired the intricate envelope liner, a hidden work of art guests would discover as they opened their invitations.
The City: Cobbled lanes, the romance of the Botanic Gardens, and even the couple’s favourite Glasgow nightclubs made their way into the design story.
This mix of elegance and urban personality gave the suite its distinctive style - a true love letter to the West End.

Save the Date
From the very first mailing, we set the tone for the celebration. The Save the Date featured a vivid digital illustration of Oran Mór, bathed in evening light, paired with rich burgundy envelopes lined with the iconic ceiling mural design. It was a bold and joyful introduction to the couple’s wedding aesthetic, promising guests a celebration that was both grand and personal.

The main invitation was a gatefold design, opening to reveal the full illustrated façade of Oran Mór alongside the day’s schedule in delicate gold accents. The outer panels featured the venue’s iconic doorway, warmly lit as if welcoming each guest inside.
Printed on smooth silk card for a sleek modern feel, every detail was considered — from the bespoke mural envelope liner to the copper wax seal. The suite felt cohesive, tactile, and unmistakably “Mark & Broghan.” Even there gorgeous dog made a small appearance to add that extra special personal touch.

One of my favourite personal touches from this wedding was the table name set - each one a digitally illustrated print of a famous Glasgow nightclub, from Sub Club to The Garage, The Arches to Kushion. These playful nods to the couple’s shared nights out became a talking point among guests and tied the reception styling back to the vibrant city theme.

From Concept to Creation
Every bespoke suite starts with a detailed design proposal, bringing together illustration, colour palette, layout, and finishing touches. For Mark and Broghan, the proofs captured the creative vision exactly as it would be brought to life in print - ensuring every element felt intentional before production began.

We pride ourselves on that fact that our digital mock ups give an incredibly accurate representation of what the finished design will look like. We are able to try different ideas during the design process to ensure we get the perfect combination.
